Trip Itinerary
Arrive Entebbe international airport where you will be met by a representative from Swanair Travel and Safaris who will then transfer you to your Hotel in Entebbe. There are several optional activities available in Entebbe: visit the Mabamba swamp a habitat to several bird species, you could also go for a sunset cruise on L. Victoria or visit the Uganda Wild life education Centre – The Zoo.
After breakfast, set out for the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, rich with wildlife including warthog, water buck, bush buck, leopard, Ugandan kob, elephants, countless bird species and even the rare giant forest hog. The Ishasha sector of the park is known for its famous tree climbing lions sometimes found lying about in the branches of the native fig trees.
Early this morning as the African sun breaks, venture out for a game drive to look for big cats, elephant, buffalo and many antelope species. You are able to spend the whole day exploring the park with your private vehicle and guide.
Drive approx. 2.5hrs to Bwindi National Park, located in south western Uganda on the edge of the Great Rift Valley- considered the most diverse forest in Uganda. The park contains almost one half of the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorilla, making it an extremely valuable conservation site. Bwindi is also home to several endangered bird species with very limited ranges, and acts as an important catchment area for many rivers, supplying water for agriculture in the surrounding region. Dinner and overnight.
Following breakfast, transfer to the National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. You will be guided by experienced guides into the dense forest in search of the Mountain gorillas. It is a life time experience viewing the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. This is a unique travel experience you won’t soon forget!

After the trek, return to your lodge and time permitting, go for and afternoon community walk. Please note: tracking may be fairly strenuous with treks up to six hours or longer, at high altitudes, not uncommon.
This morning you depart for Lake Mburo National Park, approx. 6-7 hours’ drive. Enjoy game drives in the park in the afternoon. Lake Mburo National Park is home to elands, Burchell’s zebras, impalas and a wide variety of bird species. Free of carnivores, Lake Mburo provides a unique opportunity to see the park on foot and the chance to view vast numbers of diverse hoofed animals. Lake Mburo National Park works with local communities to create an environment in which domestic livestock peacefully coexist with the park’s native wildlife.
With a knowledgeable Ranger guide, take a nature walk in Lake Mburo before driving to Entebbe. Observe grazers like zebras, bushbucks, elands, and impalas, along with a variety of bird species. Visit the salt lick area, where animals gather to savor the taste of soil. Journey back to Entebbe, making a brief stop at the Equator along the 5-6 hour drive. Finally, head to the airport for your late international departure, concluding your remarkable trip.
